Services are available to approximately 68,000 veterans living in the tri-state area of southeastern Wyoming, northeastern Colorado and southwestern Nebraska. VA Police Services Cheyenne VAMC Police Service is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for all patients, staff, and visitors to the property. The Police Service is on-duty and available for the facility/Staff 24/7/365 with professionally trained and conscientious officers. VA Police Officers protect all people’s civil rights while accomplishing their duties in a professional manner as allowed under agency Regulations and Federal law. Police authority is derived from Title 38, United State Code, Section 902 and allows officers to enforce Regulations of the agency, U.S Criminal code and assimilated Wyoming State Statues as appropriate. VA Police Service responds to all calls for assistance in matters such as, but not limited to, crimes against persons, disturbances, medical or psychiatric emergencies, traffic accidents and other similar matters. VA Police Officers may also provide ancillary services such as escorts, jump starts and civil stand byes. We strive to serve all people we interact with in a timely manner while prioritizing the calls for our officer’s services based on the nature of the call/ urgency. Staff vehicles are to be registered with VA Police and parking tags displayed while on property. Priority is placed on providing parking for VAMC patients, customers and visitors, with all parking being monitored for safety and security for these customers as well as employees. The Cheyenne VAMC Police Service is also responsible for protecting agency resources and to this end are involved in the Facility Emergency Response Plan. Community-Based Outpatient Clinics In addition to our main facility in Cheyenne, Wyoming, we also offer services in several community-based outpatient clinics (CBOC's).
