Base Services

Provides readiness and support services for McChord Field Airmen and families including deployment support, relocation, employment, and crisis response.

Army Community Service provides relocation assistance, financial counseling, employment readiness, family advocacy, and information and referral services for the JBLM community.

Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation provides quality-of-life programs and services for JBLM service members, families, and civilians.

Provides personnel services including ID cards, DEERS enrollment, in/out processing, assignments, evaluations, and promotions for service members at JBLM.

Directorate of Public Works manages all facilities, infrastructure, construction, and environmental programs at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Provides educational counseling, tuition assistance, GI Bill guidance, testing services, and degree program information for active duty and family members at JBLM.

Promotes equal opportunity and fair treatment for all service members. Processes complaints and provides training.

Free legal assistance for active duty, retirees, and family members. Services include wills, powers of attorney, landlord-tenant issues, and family law consultations.

Provides military personnel services including SIDPERS, evaluations, promotions, assignments, in/out processing, and DEERS updates for all JBLM service members.

Provides religious support, pastoral counseling, and worship services for all faith groups at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

The SHARP program provides 24/7 support for sexual harassment and assault victims at JBLM. Offers advocacy, counseling referrals, and prevention training.

DuPont Gate is located on the southwestern side of JBLM, providing access from the City of DuPont and Interstate 5. Open daily with limited hours. Convenient entry point for personnel coming from the south Tacoma and DuPont areas.

East Gate provides access to JBLM Lewis Main from the eastern side of the installation near the training areas. Open daily with limited hours. DOD ID card holders and authorized visitors only.

The JBLM Base Operator provides directory assistance and connects calls to all offices and units across Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Available 24/7 for general installation information, emergency routing, and phone number look-up for both the Lewis Main and McChord Field sides.

JBLM Fire Department provides fire protection, emergency medical response, hazmat mitigation, and fire prevention inspections across the entire installation. Multiple fire stations cover both the Lewis Main and McChord Field sides. For emergencies, call 911 from on-base phones.

The Lewis Visitor Center is located near the Liberty Gate on the JBLM Lewis Main side. Issues visitor passes for non-DOD ID holders entering the installation. Visitors must present valid government-issued photo ID, vehicle registration, proof of insurance, and reason for visit. Passes typically valid for the day of issue.

JBLM Lost and Found is managed by the Provost Marshal Office. Found items on the installation should be turned in to the Military Police station. Personnel who have lost property can inquire at the MP desk during business hours. Items are held for a designated period before disposition per Army regulations.

Issues visitor passes and background checks for non-DoD ID cardholders needing access to JBLM. Located at the Liberty Gate (Main Gate) on Interstate 5.

The primary entry point for Joint Base Lewis-McChord (Lewis Main side). Open 24/7 with full visitor access. All personnel and visitors must present valid ID. Commercial vehicle inspections available. Closest gate to the Lewis Main exchange complex, commissary, and visitor center.

Gate providing direct access to Madigan Army Medical Center and the medical campus on JBLM Lewis Main. Open daily with extended hours for hospital staff and patients. DOD ID card holders and medical appointment visitors have expedited access.

Mcchord Air Force Base — BASE_SERVICES near Tacoma, Washington State

Secondary gate on the McChord Field side of JBLM, located near the Barnes Boulevard area. Open daily with limited hours. Convenient access for McChord housing residents and personnel working in the western McChord area.

The primary entry point for the McChord Field side of Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Open 24/7 for DOD ID card holders. Visitor passes available at the adjacent McChord Visitor Center. Provides access to McChord flightline, 62nd Airlift Wing facilities, and McChord housing areas.

The McChord Visitor Center is located near the McChord Main Gate on the McChord Field side of JBLM. Issues visitor passes for non-DOD ID holders entering the installation. Visitors must present valid government-issued photo ID, vehicle registration, proof of insurance, and reason for visit.
