Costen-Turner Recreation Area

This expanse of land is named for Lt. Tom Costen and Lt. Charlie Turner of VA-155, whose A-6 Intruder was shot down over Iraq on the first night of Desert Storm. The park was dedicated in 1995. Organized groups can reserve the park which features picnic areas, a quarter-mile track, a softball field, children's play area and gazebo. The park offers picnic tables, a gazebo and a playground area, perfect for BBQs and command get-togethers. Reservations for the exclusive use of these facilities by a party/group for a function will be assessed the following daily fee: Command Function (request on command letterhead): Free * Personal Use/DoD Civilian Functions: $40 * Outside Organizations (require CO approval): $100 * * $50 cleaning deposit required on all reservations.
