Cotabato Airport ( Filipino : Paliparan ng Cotabato ) ( IATA : CBO , ICAO : RPMC ) also known as Awang Airport is an airport serving the general area of Cotabato City , located in the province of Maguindanao in the Philippines . It is classified as a Class 1 principal (major domestic) airport by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines , a body of the Department of Transportation and Communications that is responsible for the operations of all airports in the Philippines except the major international airports.
