San Jose
San Jose , officially the Municipality of San Jose , is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Tarlac , Philippines . According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 36,253 people. [3] It was created into a municipality pursuant to RA 6842, ratified on April 21, 1990; taken from the municipality of Tarlac City . It is also the largest municipality of the province in terms of land area. The Eco-Tourism park and Monasterio de Tarlac is located at Barangay Lubigan. The monastery holds a relic of the Holy Cross and is the only one known to possess such in Asia. The monastery's height is at approximately 300 meters. A deep portion of the Tarlac River which was unaffected by lahar still exists, and for a fee of about 20 pesos, depending on the owner, a visitor can go for a traditional balsa or bamboo raft ride. The Jeepney ride from central terminal in Tarlac City costs about 40 pesos to Barangay Villa Aglipay.
