Editorial Mission
About DutyStation News
DutyStation News is a military and defense news aggregator that leverages frontier AI models to help develop and compile content. We pull headlines, source material, and breaking developments from across the defense, civil service, and veterans affairs landscape, then use a hybrid human-AI editorial process to produce clear, sourced reporting for the military community.
The Editor
The editor is a retired Naval Officer with experience across multiple levels of government and a background in operations, policy, and defense. That perspective shapes what gets covered and how — with an emphasis on practical impact for service members, veterans, and their families rather than inside-baseball Beltway gossip.
The editor reviews every piece before it goes live. AI models assist with drafting, research, and compilation, but editorial judgment — what to publish, what to hold, what to flag — remains human.
The Hybrid Approach
Ad-Free. By Choice.
DutyStation News does not run ads. No banners. No pop-ups. No sponsored content masquerading as reporting. No tracking pixels. The trade-off is simple: keeping the lights on depends on reader support, not advertiser demand.
If the service is useful to you, consider buying a bag of coffee from our parent company, Harvest Market Coffee & Tea Co. That is the entire business model: read the news, and if you like it, maybe grab a bag. No paywall. No subscription required.
Editorial Standards
- Sources are cited. When we aggregate from other outlets, the source is named.
- Original reporting and AI-assisted content are clearly labeled in the byline.
- Corrections are made promptly and noted. If we get something wrong, we fix it and say so.
- Analysis and opinion are labeled as such. News reporting aims for factual accuracy first.
- No content is published without human editorial review.
