Today, the GRECC at the Bedford VA Hospital maintains a comprehensive clinical Alzheimer’s Disease Program, including a 89-bed inpatient Dementia Special Care Unit, the Memory Diagnostic Clinic, and the Dementia Management Clinic. Research at the GRECC includes a vigorous basic science and clinical research program as well as the Center for Translational Cognitive Neuroscience. The GRECC educational training program is the one of largest multidisciplinary/allied health training programs in the Boston area, comprising geriatric medicine, neurology, psychology, dental, social work, pharmacy, nursing and optometry trainees.
